Families Of Recently Widowed And Recently Divorced
Forward Family Foundation will help with the betterment of society by working with families and children going through a divorce or loss of a spouse.
Christine L. Carpenter
President Executive Director
We created this foundation in April of 2007 and became an official non-profit 501(3)(c) organization in April of 2008 with a purpose. Having become a single mom, when my oldest daughter was just a baby was a very difficult and traumatic time in my life! Having to figure out where to go for help in moving “Forward” with my life on my own and with an infant was very scary. Although having a supportive family network, still did not make the transition from a family of three, to now just my daughter and me any easier. My whole world was definitely turned upside down! Several years later, I never imagined the success and happiness!
I remarried a wonderful man named Jonathan and we are now a family of four. He and I started the foundation together, as he came from a divorced family and understood the challenges of his mother being a single parent. We share a beautiful daughter together and he loves and respects his stepdaughter like she was his own biological child. Jonathan holds the title of Vice President on the board of directors. I hold a Bachelors Degree of Arts in Business with a hospitality concentration from Southern New Hampshire University and an Associates Degree in Early Childhood Education from Lynn University. My love of dance experience for the last 13+ years is shared with children from the ages of 1.5-6 years old at Miss Kelsey’s Dance Studio.
Our goal is to give other parents like myself some hope and strength, that there is life after divorce or widowhood. Someone, who can guide a parent to the appropriate resources, much like a parent needing critical care in the ER (trauma). We would like to be there for the initial crisis (short term care), by providing intervention resources such as; lawyers, books, insurance programs, other resources to help your family in this transition, financial help. (* If you qualify, see program overview*) any further questions can be addressed at our emailForwardFamilyFoundation@gmail.com
